Scan QR and place an order

Customers order at your restaurant by scanning the table QR code with their phone. No app download is required—they open the link in their browser, see the menu, and place an order.

For the customer

  1. Scan the QR code on the table (or stand) with the phone camera or a QR app.
  2. The phone opens the restaurant’s digital menu in the browser.
  3. Browse categories and items, tap an item to see details (description, price, options).
  4. Add to cart with quantity and any notes (e.g. “no onions”).
  5. When ready, go to Cart and choose order type: Dine-in, Takeaway, or Delivery (if enabled).
  6. Place order. They may get an order number and see status updates on screen or via notifications.

Order types

TypeTypical use
Dine-inEating at the restaurant; table may be identified from the QR.
TakeawayCustomer collects the order.
DeliveryOrder is delivered (if the venue has delivery enabled).

After placing the order

  • Real-time updates: Order status (e.g. received, preparing, ready) can appear on the customer’s screen or as push notifications if they allowed notifications.
  • Assistant (SOS): If they need help (bill, cutlery, etc.), they can use the Assistant required or SOS option to alert staff.

For the restaurant

  • Ensure QR codes are generated per table (or zone) and printed/displayed clearly. See QR Codes.
  • Keep the menu and availability up to date so customers see correct items and prices.
